Moran, Wyoming-Summer 2000

Moran? Where in the world is that?
Moran is a little East of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and a little South of Yellowstone National Park. It is in the Bridger-Teton National Forest and very close to the Teton Mountain Range.
I spent the Summer there working on Togwotee Pass at a resort called Cowboy Village. I was a housekeeper (and take my warning now...Don't ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER become a housekeeper. EVER.) It was a great Summer. I had a stellar roommate named Carrie who was from Missouri. I met lots of interesting people from all over the world and got to see a lot of Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. My Daddy, step-mom, and sister even got to come out for vacation. I'd love to go back someday...but from that experience I learned something very important...I am a true SOUTHERN CAROLINA GIRL!!

Things I got to do while in Wyoming...
Meet great people, see the West (anyone who knows me, knows that was a dream come true) clean toilets, make beds, rodeos, go to Cody, Thermompolis (home of the World's Largest Hot Springs), Yellowstone National Park, Fly for the very first time in my life, owe my Mom a lot of money, get homesick, ride horses, fish, LOTS OF CAMPING, white water raft in the Snake River, spend a lot of time in Jackson Hole, see my Daddy experience Yellowstone for the first time, realize how truly "special" Carolinians are, be exposed to Grateful Dead and Phish (thanks Carrie, I'm still not a fan, but I think I'm better person for the exposure. hee hee)., eat crab legs from Oregon, get lots of mail and fun care packages (thanks Kimmy, you rock!), and see just how different the West is from the East. |

My roommate Carrie--She was soooo awesome! (And still is)
This is me and her with Jeff in front of the Teton Mountain range. We got to camp out directly across from there and woke up to an incredible sight! This is one of my favorite pictures in the world!
Carrie is from Missouri and I honestly would not have made it through the Summer without her. She's an incredible person and I miss her so much!

My Daddy, Step-Mom (Denise) and sister got to come out for their vacation. They stayed at the resort with me for a couple of days and I ended up riding back to Utah with them. I got to be with my Daddy as he saw Yellowstone for the first time, which was pretty neat. Here they are in front of Bear Lake in Utah. Bear Lake had the most crystal blue water I have ever seen!
